Ten emerging enterprise technologies
The whole world watches trends. But at a certain time, to indicate what trends actually weave their way into enterprise computing, it is necessary to take a look at the technologies that gave life to these last sentences.
That’s the idea behind the Top Ten of the American magazine InfoWorld about ten emerging business technologies in 2011. We’re all so excited about the great changes in enterprise IT management-from the consumer-oriented IT infrastructure convergence, but what new technologies have emerged to allow these ideas take shape? That’s what we respond InfoWorld.
Among the multitude of business technologies that have not yet been widely adopted, we believe the following ten will have the greatest impact. Our selection criteria are subjective rather than objective, derived from many years of evaluation in the InfoWorld Test Center, watching the comings and goings of the industry, and taking stock of what appeals to business customers. In other words, this list is based on the trial and the collective experience of InfoWorld editors and contributors, not a magic formula.
Except for the examples, we have avoided as much as possible descriptions of specific products. We are focusing on technologies rather than their specific product implementations frozen in time, simply because technology is evolving rapidly.
You may not agree with our selection, in fact, controversial due to the IT world, we are surprised he is. So please leave your opinions in our comments section.
10. HTML5
InfoWorld has written extensively about HTML5, but we spent time debating internally the possibility of including in this list. Critics pointed out that we’ve been putting labels to form the web pages from the start of the World Wide Web. HTML5 has been limited to add new tags. Do we do what we were doing to celebrate when someone invented the < strong >?
Others took the view that although practical HTML5 looks like the old HTML, the tasks that are dramatically different. The local data storage, the < canvas > tag video and allow to do more than putting words and images in a rectangle. In addition, the new specification WebSockets HTML5 defines a new way of carrying out communication full-duplex for web applications based on events.
